What are the hours for Strolls?
Christmas Strolls hours are Tuesday – Saturday, December 2-20, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (last entry at 8:30 p.m.). Each night of Strolls, a Senior, Mobility Friendly & Sensory Sensitivity Hour will be offered from 5-6 p.m. for guests with sensory sensitivities or mobility challenges and their families.
What does it cost to visit?
- PLEASE NOTE: We are sold out for the remaining nights of Christmas Strolls (December 18-20). There are no pre-purchase or walk-up tickets available for the remainder of the season.
- As limited tickets are available for each evening of Strolls, we strongly encourage pre-purchasing your tickets to get the lowest price and guarantee your Stroll. SOLD OUT
- Pre-purchased ticket prices: SOLD OUT
- $3 for adults (ages 13+)
- $1 for children (admission for infants ages 2 and under is free)
- If tickets are still available the evening of the Stroll, all walk-up tickets purchased at the gate are $5 per person. SOLD OUT
Do I need a ticket for admission into the Stroll?
Yes, all guests must have a ticket for admission into the Stroll.
Do my kids need a ticket?
Yes, all children need a ticket for admission into the Stroll. Pre-purchased tickets for children are $1. Admission for infants (ages 2 and under) is free. Any walk-up tickets available for purchase at the gate are $5 per person (infants still free).
PLEASE NOTE: Children 16 and under MUST be under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
Are tickets required for the Senior, Mobility Friendly & Sensitivity Hour?
Yes, tickets are required for this hour.
How do I buy tickets?
Tickets may be purchased anytime at https://shangrilagardens.org/strollstickets/. SOLD OUT
When can I buy tickets?
All tickets will be available for pre-purchase beginning November 17 at 9 a.m.
When should I plan to buy my tickets? Will there be tickets available at the gate?
We encourage pre-purchasing your Strolls tickets as soon as you have planned your visit. We anticipate evenings of Strolls to sell out. Please check our social media and website for updates during Strolls for ticket availability prior to planning a visit. Walk-up tickets are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.
How many tickets are available for each evening of Strolls? How many tickets can I buy?
- To offer a more magical and safe experience for all, the capacity of each Stroll is limited to 4,000 tickets. All guests must have a ticket for admission into the Stroll.
- There is no limit for individual ticket sales.
Can I purchase tickets with cash?
Purchases are available with credit cards only.
How do I receive the tickets? Can I print them, or can they be shown on my phone?
Your tickets will be delivered via email to the email address that you supply at checkout. Tickets can be printed or shown digitally. The QR code must be visible to scan for entry.
What do I do if I lose my tickets or forget my tickets?
We cannot provide a refund for lost tickets or print them. Please make sure that your tickets are saved or stored in a safe, easily accessible location.
Can I transfer my tickets to someone else?
Yes, you may give your tickets to someone else. Please make sure to give the ticket to them either physically or digitally.
What is your refund policy?
All tickets to Christmas Strolls are non-refundable and are considered a donation to the garden in support of our mission.
Can I get a refund if I cannot attend on my ticketed day?
No, all tickets to Christmas Strolls are non-refundable and are considered a donation to the garden in support of our mission.
What is the weather cancellation policy?
In the event of inclement weather during a scheduled evening of Christmas Strolls, a decision could be made to close for the safety of our visitors, staff and volunteers. Once the decision to cancel has been made, we will provide an update on our social media pages. Tickets are non-refundable and considered a donation to the garden in support of our mission.
Can I exchange my tickets for a different date?
Tickets may not be exchanged for different dates. All tickets to Christmas Strolls are non-refundable and are considered a donation to the garden in support of our mission.
You're sold out online for the evening I want to come. Can I come anyway?
No, please plan to visit on a different evening with tickets available for purchase. If an evening of Strolls is sold out, only ticketholders will be admitted into the garden. Walk-up tickets are not available for sold out evenings.
Do you provide any discounts?
No discounts are available.
Accessibility
Is accessible parking available?
During hours for Christmas Strolls, all parking inside the main gate of Shangri La will be available for accessible parking. A passenger drop-off area is available at the front entrance.
Is the Stroll wheelchair and stroller accessible?
Yes, the garden pathways are wheelchair and stroller accessible. A limited number of wheelchairs are available for visitors' use upon request.
Will there be loud music or flashing lights on the Stroll?
There is holiday music playing throughout the Stroll, as well as some lighting sequences that involve a flashing effect. During our Senior, Mobility Friendly & Sensory Sensitivity Hour, there will be no music or flashing lights. This hour is offered each night of Christmas Strolls from 5-6 p.m. and is designed with smaller crowds for guests with sensory sensitivities or mobility challenges and their families.
Visitor Information
Where do I park?
The Shangri La visitor parking lot is located on West Park Avenue across from the entrance to the gardens. Parking spaces are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. We recommend arriving early to park. Help us be kind to our neighbors by not parking in personal residential areas. We kindly ask that you avoid blocking driveways, lawns, alleyways or streets with your parked vehicle.
Are public restrooms available?
Yes, there are restrooms located near the entrance to the Stroll, as well as approximately halfway through the Stroll.
Are restrooms and trash cans available before I enter the Stroll?
No, restrooms and trash cans are only available once you enter the Stroll. Please plan accordingly prior to your visit.
Are donations being collected for the Community Food Drive that benefits Orange Christian Services?
Yes, please consider bringing non-perishable food items for our Community Food Drive. All food and monetary donations collected at Strolls benefit Orange Christian Services to support those in greatest need throughout our community.
How long is the Stroll?
The Stroll path is one mile long.
Are pets allowed?
Sorry, no pets are allowed. Service animals may accompany visitors with disabilities.
We lost an item during our visit. Who should I contact?
Please contact the administration office at 409-670-9113 or email info@shangrilargardens.org and describe what it is you lost. We do keep personal items that have been found in the garden for a short time period, even if it is just one glove!
When should I plan to visit?
As Christmas nears, we experience peak traffic. We recommend planning your visit early in the season. Based on previous attendance numbers, we also recommend visiting Christmas Strolls on a Tuesday or Wednesday evening. In 2024, we experienced peak traffic during weekends and the final week offered.
What happens in the event of inclement weather during Stroll hours?
If an inclement weather event occurs while visitors are in the gardens, we will utilize a loudspeaker system to make announcements for visitors to exit through the main visitor exit.
Is there a place to take a family photo?
Yes, there are locations throughout the Stroll for family photo opportunities. The ornament located near the Pond of the Blue Moon is a popular photo spot and wait times may vary. Please remember to respect other families while they take their photo.
What concessions are available?
- Orange Lions Club will have hot cocoa and cookies available for purchase near the Children’s Garden. Visitors are encouraged to help support their fundraising endeavor, as the proceeds from their concessions sales at Christmas Strolls helps to support community projects.
- Free State Cellars will have a selection of their signature spirts and specialty treats available for purchase. Their location will be in the meadow.
Can I bring my own food and drink inside?
We kindly ask that outside food and drink not be brought into the garden during this event. Please check out the concessions available from our local vendors, Orange Lions Club and Free State Cellars.
I am traveling from out of town. Are there local restaurants that I can dine at after I visit Christmas Strolls?

Our wonderful volunteers help to support Shangri La events, programming and educational opportunities. In 2024, 531 hours of service were committed by volunteers to facilitate Christmas Strolls. What is the garden etiquette?
The garden is a smoke, vaping and tobacco free venue for the enjoyment of your fellow visitors. No outside alcohol is permitted inside. Shangri La is home to a variety of wildlife. Please give all wildlife the respect they deserve. Thank you for respecting the horticultural displays. Please stay on the designated paths so that everyone may enjoy the flowers, plants and other elements in the garden. What is your firearm policy?
As an educational institution with numerous school and educational groups and activities, weapons are prohibited on the property. Additionally, pursuant to Texas Penal Code Sections 30.05, 30.06 and 30.07, we have posted legal signage notifying the public that we do not permit concealed or openly carried handguns in our facility.

Please note: A small section of W. Park Avenue will be closed to facilitate pedestrian crossing. Please review the map for traffic flow and parking.

Orange Christian Services
We will be collecting non-persishable food donations for Orange Christian Services all throughout December (during regular operating hours as well as during Christmas Strolls). OCS is a non-profit ecumenical organization of 44 local churches that has served Orange County residents in need of food, clothing, medical, dental and rent/utility assistance since 1979.
OCS is in need of the following foods in order to fulfill client food orders:

Orange Lions Club
The Orange Lions Club will once again be selling hot chocolate and cookies throughout our Christmas Strolls.
