Mr. Stark wished to make an artistic statement with the plantings he created throughout his beloved garden. Inspired by Mr. Stark’s efforts, the designers of the modern Shangri La referred back to the basic elements of art. These include line, texture, shape, contrast, and color. In order to better understand these elements, the Garden Rooms at Shangri La were created to individually celebrate the basic elements of art. They are demonstrated in the form of living plants in each dedicated space. Please explore and observe how the elements of art are translated in the landscape.
