The Brown Daylily Collection is comprised of a series of leaf-shaped beds surrounded by clipped boxwoods that produce an explosion of brightly colored flowers at their peak during late May. Edgar Brown III, a native of Orange and great grandson of H.J. Lutcher, along with his wife Betty, were recognized as award-winning breeders of daylilies. The daylilies in these beds showcase the result of 30 years of breeding by the couple. The Brown’s garden was originally located at Pinehurst Gardens, adjacent to the Brown Center in Orange, Texas.
