The JASON project is a nonprofit organization and longtime partner of the National Geographic Society. Each year the JASON Project connects young students with scientists, explorers, and major events to inspire and motivate them to learn science.
The JASON Project is implemented regionally each year by Lamar University Beaumont. Since 2003, Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center Education staff has participated in the JASON project by providing multi-day programs for students and professional development for teachers.
