Contrasts Garden

The Contrasts Garden demonstrates the vast variety of color that is expressed in flowers and/or leaves. Like a living color wheel, the plants in this garden have contrasting, or opposite, colors.

Depending on the season, you will find different plants in the Contrasts Garden. You may see gold and purple, green and red, or orange and blue. Throughout this garden, boxwood hedges create a frame for the colorful annual flowers.

Artists use the element of contrast to emphasize color. Often, if two contrasting colors are placed next to each other, the individual colors will “pop” to one’s eye.

This garden takes advantage of the huge variety of color that plants express. Like a living color wheel, the plants in this Contrasts Garden complement each other.
